2014 ASAR Ltd Board Elections

In May 2014, two Member Director-positions will become vacant. In accordance with Part V.35 of the ASAR Ltd. Constitution, elections will be held to determine a voting member to fill each of the vacant positions. A timeline for the 2014 ASAR Board nominations and elections is provided below.

  • Online Nominations for Directors commence 14 February 2014
  • Online nominations for Directors end 28 March 2014
  • Formal announcement of AGM 11 April 2014
  • Ballot for Directors commences 11 April 2014
  • Ballot for Directors closes 2 May 2014
  • Candidates informed of election results 6 May 2014
  • New Directors announced at the AGM on 25 May 2014

All approved voting members of ASAR Ltd. are entitled to nominate and be nominated for appointment as a Member Director of the ASAR Board. To date there are over 1000 approved voting members.

Accredited Medical Sonographers (AMS) can apply online for voting membership of ASAR at any time by logging into their ASAR member profile on the website or by downloading and submitting the completed application form.

Renewal Notices for 2014 

Please note that renewal notices for 2014 will be sent electronically to your nominated email address. RENEWAL NOTICES WILL NOT BE POSTED.

Please ensure that your contact details including your email address are correct by visiting your profile on-line or contacting the ASAR office on (02) 8850 1144.

If you joined the registry between 1 July 2013 and 31 December 2013 your renewal fee for 2014 will be waived.

Renewals for AMS will commence in early February 2014. Renewals for Accredited Student Sonographers will commence in April 2014.

For all AMS whose triennium ends on 31 December 2013, you must have satisfied the requirements of your nominated ASAR-approved CPD program, before your renewal can be processed. (See note below)

2014 Fees 

AMS Renewal: $99.00 including GST
CPD Default Renewal: $150.00 including GST
Student Renewal: $99.00 including GST
Temporary Residents Renewal: $99.00 including GST
Accreditation Fee (new applicants): $99.00 including GST
Reactivation: $55.00 including GST
Re-application Fee: $200.00 including GST
Bank fee for dishonoured cheque: $9.00
Duplicate Certificate: $20.00 including GST

Please note that unless requested, receipts for payment of fees will not be posted.
A paid tax invoice can be printed from your online personal profile.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) triennium ending 31 December 2013

Accreditation with ASAR is dependent upon each AMS fulfilling CPD requirements of their nominated ASAR-approved CPD program. ASAR monitors CPD accrual and performs an annual audit of all AMS who have completed their triennium. Further information can be found at

ASAR Office 

We are pleased to announce that the ASAR’s National Office will relocate to the Sydney Central Business District in early 2014. New address, contact details and transition arrangements will be announced closer to the move.

Liane Walters who has been in the position of Executive Officer with the ASAR for the last 2 and a-half years has left the company. ASAR would like to thank Liane and wish her all the best for her future endeavors. The position will be restructured and recruited in early 2014.

The ASAR office will be closed at 5pm Friday 20th December and will reopen on Monday 13th January 2014.
